As Mexia proudly enters its 10th year as a registered business, we are extremely honoured and humbled to mark this decade milestone with the announcement that we have been named the 11th BEST place to work in Australia under 100 employees by Great Place To Work Australia! This is our third year placing in the top 20 companies in the nation and it is an accolade we are incredibly privileged to receive.
The Great Place To Work study
The Best Place to Work study is widely acclaimed in Australia. Based on one of the world's most comprehensive studies of workplace culture by Great Place to Work Australia, the quality of this year's study is higher than ever. The success of the Best Workplaces is a testament to their willpower and innovation to retain happy, engaged, loyal, high performing workforces during challenging times.
"The 50 best places to work are at the vanguard of an emerging movement", said Zrinka Lovrencic MD of Great Place To Work Australia. "It's a movement of great workplaces for all - encompassing diversity and inclusion, and the 50 Best Places to Work and those that join them are enjoying better business outcomes as they continue to build a better society."
The 2018 Best Places to work has today been published in a feature insert in the Australian Financial Review.
From day one, we have taken pride in being a champion team, not a team of champions and this core value has paved the way to form the incredible team culture we are lucky enough to celebrate today.
"Everyone says they have a great team and that their company is all about their people, but most companies only pay lip service to that ideal. Being truly focussed on your team requires a strategic focus on investing into them, for them, and with them. It takes genuine love, attention, investment and discipline to be a truly 'people focussed' business, and I love the fact that Mexia does that very well."
- Mexia CEO Dean Robertson
In order to achieve this, Mexia puts our unicorns at the centre of our universe and surrounds them with our core values:
Technical excellence is so important for our branding - both from our customer perspective and in attracting new talent.
We celebrate technical excellence as it is one of Mexia's pillars in our strategy (to be known as the World’s Best Microsoft Integration Consultancy). Investing in our IP means we actively support the learning & development of our Unicorns to achieve mastery in their career. Their technical excellence in everything we do means we all collectively succeed.
Our Champion Team
Along with a strong focus on delivering world class integration by working with cutting edge technologies, our unicorns are also provided with Mexia subsidised Gadget Allowances, Learning & Development programs, weekly Mexia Fitness Club and various team bonding activities throughout the year (including our famous MexReady Financial Year Kick Off & Mexmas Parties!). We also take the time to ensure a smooth onboarding experience for our new unicorns, so that nobody ever feels alone in their first few weeks on the job.
Furthermore, we use Slack channels as a constant open source of communication between both of our offices so everybody is consistently kept in the loop, connecting us all regardless of location. We are accepting and welcoming of every single person on our team, and we provide flexible working options for all as we acknowledge that life gets a little tricky sometimes. On any given day, you may find us simultaneously celebrating a birthday with a delicious morning tea feast, multitasking several different high level customer projects and rounding off the day with a friendly fires nerf gun war!
Ten Years Of Mexia
Mexia is a triple Microsoft Gold Partner, 2017 Microsoft Australia Partner of the Year, and are so appreciative to add that we have now been named one of the top companies in the nation to work for three years in a row!
Our story is a very special one which we absolutely do not take for granted. For the first time ever, we have a team of over fifty permanent employees and each and every one contributes to the tapestry of our success. We feel so grateful that we have been able to continue to nurture our team culture by staying true to all of the values that the company was founded upon.
For that, we thank our CEO Dean Robertson, COO Mathew Coleman, Chairman Calvin Treacy and of course, all of our Mexia unicorns and we look forward to whatever comes next for us on this amazing journey!
