Formal Mexia statement regarding the Bourke Street rampage and Nethra Krishnamurthy

Mexia are overwhelmed with the incredible support shown by the community in the last 24 hours for Nethra Krishnamurthy.  Nethra is a valued member of our team and whilst she remains in a critical condition in ICU, we are hopeful that she can eventually make a full recovery and return to her family and home life as soon as possible.

We extend our thanks to the media for supporting the MyCause fundraising effort and sharing her story.  We’ve been touched by the number of donations and associated messages of love and hope that have poured in from all over the world as a result.

Mexia are not only focused on the health and well-being of Nethra and her family, but also of our entire team.  We are a small company with a very close-knit team and we’ve all been affected in some way by the events on Friday. We are currently providing counselling and trauma support to ensure that all of our staff are able to heal.

Whilst Mexia do not formally represent the family or any families involved, our number one priority is to ask that their privacy is respected at this incredibly difficult time. As such we will not be discussing or issuing any updates or information in regards to Nethra, her condition, or that of her family.

Instead we ask the media and the wider community to continue supporting all of the individuals and families impacted on Friday in any way they can.  The My Cause fundraising page for Nethra is just one way to do that and all donations will be graciously received and contribute directly to the long road to recovery.
